Helldivers 2 has seen a steady flow of new content come to the game including Premium Warbonds that include new weapons, armor, and cosmetics, as well as new missions, planets, and enemies. With new updates coming to the game on a near-weekly basis, there is always something to look forward to. Here are all of the current Helldivers 2 leaks and rumors – which we keep updated regularly with all the latest information as soon as it drops.
The Illuminate Are Set To Come To Helldivers 2
It has been rumored for some time that The Illuminate are set to come to Helldivers 2 as the third faction alongside the Automatons and Terminids. So far, The Illuminate hasn’t appeared, but a new leak has revealed textures relating to the faction being discovered in the Helldivers 2 files. This new texture is a portal that The Illuminate will use to spawn onto the planet, similar to the Fabricators and bug holes that are in the game currently. Players will then need to destroy these to stop The Illuminate from spawning. Textures for the enemies have also been discovered but are said to be in an early state so it will likely be a few months before the new faction comes to the game.
Melee Weapons Could Come To Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 Community Manager Twinbeard has discussed the possibility of melee weapons coming to the game. Art for Helldivers 2 originally included bayonets and energized sabers, and Twinbeard has stated that melee weapons “might still happen.” There is a melee button in Helldivers 2 but it isn’t viable to hit an enemy with your weapon unless it’s a last resort. But, a dedicated melee weapon that does more damage could make it incredibly fun to charge into a horde and enemies and start swinging.

Star Wars may be set in a galaxy far far away, but it could potentially come to Super Earth in the future. Collaborations and video games seem to go hand in hand these days, with games such as Fortnite and Call of Duty seeing many crossovers and popular characters from other IPs come to the games. The Helldivers 2 Community Manager Twinbeard did discuss the possibility of a collaboration with Star Wars, noting that the collaboration would “have to make sense.” Twinbeard did state that Lightsabers wouldn’t come to the game as they wouldn’t fit with the style of the game.

With Lucasfilm and the Star Wars IP now being owned by Disney, could this also open the door for a Marvel collaboration? And, with Disney having an equity stake in Epic Games, could we see Helldivers be turned into Fortnite skins? If Arrowhead Game Studios opens itself up to collaborations there are many great possibilities that fans would like to see.
Over in Fortnite, we are due to see a Star Wars x Fortnite crossover in May. With Helldivers 2 rapidly gaining popularity, it’s only a matter of time, we think, before such a crossover will happen.
Fire Is Finally Going To Be Nerfed
Fire has become the bane of our lives when it comes to Helldivers 2. A recent update buffed fire damage to an ungodly amount, with it now almost instant-killing players. Whether you’re being hit by a Tank, getting trapped by a fire tornado, or even using your own flamethrower, fire is the biggest threat to Helldivers right now.
Thankfully, Arrowhead Game Studios has said that fire will be nerfed in a future update. There is no information regarding when this change will be added, but the developers have previously made changes to the game based on feedback very quickly, so we will likely see this change sooner rather than later. There is also confirmation from the CEO that there will be further changes as part of the Helldivers 2 roadmap, although details here are thin on the ground.

Helldivers 2: New Incoming Weapon – AR-20L Justice
The AR-20L Justice is a marksman rifle that is on its way to Helldivers 2. With high damage and medium armor penetration, we expect this gun will be excellent when facing Automatons. We may have known about the Justice for a while now but it seems ready for deployment.
In recent updates, Helldivers 2 has secretly added new enemies, such as Factory Striders, Shriekers, and Automaton Gunships, which have their own abilities. Shriekers have a large wingspan that allows them to fly in the air and perform dive-bombing attacks.

What's new in Helldivers 2? Helldivers 2 just received a major balancing patch, tweaking strategems, weapons and enemies. The Airburst Rocket Launcher is available for purchase, allowing you to fire a projectile which explodes into smaller pieces. Great for crowd control.
The JAR-5 Dominator is a powerful semi-automatic weapon that fires jet propelled rounds. Its high damage per shot allows it to take out all small enemies in one shot, and kill most other enemies in a single headshot. The Dominator excels when taking time to line up shots with weakpoints, just like marksman rifles.
The Liberator Penetrator is a variant of the starter assault rifle that also pierces medium armor. With a larger magazine, steadier recoil, and around half the damage, the Penetrator is very easy to use, but too weak for my tastes.
EXO-Patriot Mech Suits can be purchased from the Stratagems tab of the Ship Management Console. You'll find the Mech at the bottom of the Robotics Workshop Stratagem list. Before you can get your hands on the exosuit, you'll need to reach Level 25 and have 20,000 Requisition Slips saved up.

While they seem mostly finished, bear in mind that they are still subject to change or even get cut altogether.

The Illuminate is coming to Helldivers 2, we just don't know when right now. The futuristic creatures are said to be coming following a black hole event caused by the Super Weapon that is currently being developed as part of the story, so it shouldn't be too long before they make themselves known to the Helldivers.
