Loop yarn is a fun new yarn in the stores. This tutorial will show you how to make a fabulous Valentine's day wreath from the loop yarn. This is a quick, easy and fun project to make and will take you less than 30 minutes.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR VALENTINE LOOP YARN HEART WREATH

STEP 1: TIE ON YARN

To begin, cut a couple of yarn loops open at the start of the yarn so there is a long end. If using a wire heart form wreath frame like shown below, tie the yarn end onto the frame along one side.

If you are using a foam wreath form, carefully glue the yarn tail onto the form along the side.

This is just to hold the yarn in place as you start to wrap the yarn.

STEP 2: Wrap The Yarn around the wreath

Start wrapping the yarn around the wreath by passing the yarn ball through the center of the wreath. Be sure to align the loops so they are pointing outwards.

In order for the wreath to be fluffy, try to keep the loops from falling towards the center of the wreath frame. If using a foam wreath, be sure they are not getting squished against the form.

Keep the wrapping close together so that the entire wreath is being covered and full. Wrap around the entire wreath. Add extra wraps around the pointed sections of the heart to be sure it's covered completely.

The yarn can be adjusted to cover if necessary.

STEP 3: Yarn Wrapped around the wreath

Once the yarn is wrapped around the entire wreath, check to make sure everything is covered and you are happy with the look. We had some yarn left after wrapping our wreath.

Loop yarn comes in different sized skeins so the amount you need will depend on the size of the wreath form and the size of the yarn skein.

STEP 4: Glue Yarn End

Wrap the yarn around to the back of the wreath and cut it off between two loops. Using a glue gun, glue the yarn end to the back of the wreath to hold it in place.

STEP 4: Glue Decoration

If you would like to add a purchased decoration to your wreath, use the glue gun to glue it onto the wreath in the desired location. I selected this heart ornament and glued it onto the wreath.

STEP 5: Add Hanging Ribbon

To hang the wreath, take a piece of ribbon about 10" long and tie it to the top of the heart wreath form. If using a wire heart frame, tie it around a wire. If using a foam frame, tie around a couple of wraps of the loop yarn.

Finished Loop Yarn Wreath

The Valentine Loop Yarn Heart wreath is complete and ready to hang in your house or on your door. This is a pretty and festive decoration for Valentine's day. It's also super simple to make!
