You needn't look very far or wide right now (just scroll on this site for a bit) to find plenty of stellar examples of just how powerful and useful Seth's V-Trigger 2 is for opening people up, doling out stylish and big damage combos, and resets that all but guarantee the round's end is nigh. That said, perhaps it's time for a dose of anti-VT2 action.

While beasting online during a recent CFN session, EVO 2013 champion RZR|Xian came across a Vega player by the name of Buster Claw who was not only able to endure through one of the Seth player's mind-bending set ups, but wound up turning the entire round around.

Laura in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition is known for her explosive damage output and momentum swings. Needless to say, she's an ideal candidate for combo clips.

With credit given to taniyan, an interesting clip has recently surfaced that features Laura. In just two openings, Javits Arias is able to completely destroy Cammy with a full health bar (925 stamina).

Street Fighter 5 gets a lot of flack. Some of the complaints hurled at the game are totally baseless while others are entirely deserved. A polarizing product has made for a polarizing nearly five years of our lives, yet the game has found success and currently sits at 4.7 million units sold.

I have been playing this game since its launch in 2016, and the truth of the matter is, I want to love Street Fighter 5. I really do want to love this game — and there are certainly things I do love about it — however, I continually find myself walking away frustrated after a session or hesitant to even jump into one, and I believe the main culprit here is the lopsidedness of the game's "all-or-nothing" nature.

If there's a Street Fighter 5 tier list around, you can typically expect to see Alex at or near the bottom of it almost every single time. The man doesn't have oki on his command grabs, not much in the way of defense outside of parries and frame data isn't often on his side, but there is some special thing he can apparently do.

Resident Alex hype man DemonDan14 recently shared a clip of the SF3 veteran negating Dhalsim's Critical Art completely.

Game update practices have changed in the fighting game community fairly rapidly in the last few years, and while we're reasonably happy with Capcom's one to two times a year approach to balancing Street Fighter 5, we have to wonder if this is optimal.

The next big chapter for Street Fighter 5 is now on the horizon as we venture into November, but perhaps developers should be a little more liberal with their patches and allow for smaller character tweaks throughout the year. This could become the standard for SF5 and move on into Street Fighter 6, but Catalyst and I have somewhat differing opinions.

"If you want to get better at dealing with Guile, you just have to focus more on whiff punishing," said BST|Daigo Umehara during his stream according to FGC Translated. "What I feel when I play Guile is that my opponents try to hit me by having the right read."

Interestingly enough, Daigo feels that relying on reads or gambles won't help high level players level up. "Reads are something that don't improve," continued Daigo. "Unless you have a concrete solution to your problem, you're actually not improving. This happens a lot in fighting games."

We understand that moves like Urien's Aegis, Menat's Wisdom of Thoth, or Seth's Tanden Maneuver V-Triggers are wells of potential when it comes to combos and innovative sequences in Street Fighter 5, but does Dhalsim fit somewhere into that category as well? Apparently so.

Recent footage posted by BroskiFGC shows that the Sim user was able to pull off one of the zaniest 15-hit combos we've seen the Yoga master muster. From meter reserves to spacing, everything comes together perfectly for this unlikely sequence to work.

Street Fighter 5 is a successful game. It isn't everyone's favorite, but it has enough going for it to sell nearly five million copies and become the biggest fighting game eSport title to date. As we move through these final chapters of Street Fighter 5's competitive lifespan and look more and more toward a horizon with Street Fighter 6 in it, considering what worked and what didn't is key for expressing what we want to see in the next game.

DreamKing and I are beginning to run with this idea and are using not only SF5's example, but also the example of Street Fighter 4 given that we've both spent so much time with that title already. Our first move was to download Ultra Street Fighter 4 for PC and see if our muscle memory recalled any one frame links (his did, mine definitely didn't). The idea here is identify relevant details in both games so as to be able to take the good and leave out the bad from both, and the first natural takeaway I came to focuses on the ends of rounds.

Gill arguably has the most stylish and longest combo game in Street Fighter 5, yet he's usually rated among the weakest fighters on the roster — and this here kinda shows why his Retribution system often times isn't enough to get him the win.

During the most recent tournament of The Online Local, the newly rebranded weekly event series from the minds of r/StreetFighter, an Ultimate Grand Master ranked Gill player showcased how cool the character can look when everything is going right, but also just how quickly everything can come down and collapse around him.

When Urien's Aegis Reflector was buffed up in Season 2 of Street Fighter 5, it was one of the first V-Triggers that got us talking about the game in "robbery" terms as it was so powerful that it could easily become the sole decider in the outcome of any given round.

Things have been toned down since that time, but the Illuminati higher up still tends to cause a good bit of grief as he routinely traps and opens us up with his devastating mirror move. While there seems to be about a million and one ways Urien can get you with Aegis, there's one that's extremely common and that you don't need to get hit by any longer thanks to some research by Hoji FGC.

During the Capcom Pro Tour Online 2020 Asia East 2, Victrix|Momochi found himself going up against Rohto|Tokido. While Tokido was using both Urien and Akuma throughout the event, Momochi exclusively used Seth.

HiFight managed to capture a clip that really highlighted Momochi's insane reaction time. This scenario resulted in an impressive set victory for Momochi.

Opinions regarding the strengths of individual characters in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition vary widely depending on which player you ask and what region they're from, but what do their thoughts look like when they're all put together?

Custom arcade stick maker AFightstick recently put that to the test by creating an aggregate tier list made up of data from the tier lists of 23 pro-level players, resulting in a better look at how the season seems to be shaping up as a whole.

Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition's latest DLC character, Seth, is receiving a lot of attention right now. As players learn more of what the fighter is capable of and see more success with them in competitive play, their strength and placement on the tier list becomes more apparent.

Two clips of the same V-Trigger 2 set up were shared on Twitter early yesterday morning that feature both FAV|Sako and RZR|Xian putting their opponents in an absolutely deadly situation. If you're playing Seth already or are looking to learn them, you'll definitely want to continue on from here.

Street Fighter 5 got its arcade mode just under two years after release, but unlike most every other title in the franchise, things were very different when it came to presenting character stories as instead of giving each fighter a prologue as if he or she was ultimate winner of the tournament, everyone got a prelude instead.

This departure from the norm flew a bit under the radar with many of us, probably because of the game's turbulent beginnings that lacked both an arcade and story mode, but was brought up by Director, Takayuki Nakayama, during a recent interview with SPIN.

There's a decent chance you've seen highlights or have had some League Points taken away by NightMareEffecT, one of the absolute best Street Fighter 5 players in Louisiana and a damn good Balrog main. There's an even better chance you know RISE|Smug, one of America's SF5 top competitors and arguably our most notable stream personality.

What you may have missed is the Louisiana online event (put on by Beatdown LA) that took place over the weekend wherein these two wound up clashing in exchanges that not only yielded one of the most ridiculous G command grabs we've ever seen, but wound up being some top tier Street Fighter entertainment, through and through.

A very creative streamer who goes by the handle of G-P has successfully brought to fruition one of the most creative arcade fight sticks we've seen yet.

G-P, who has been known to create such devices out of peculiar objects, recently promised his viewers that if he were to gain enough followers on his Twitch channel he'd spend a session attempting to create and play on a controller made out of a hollowed out pumpkin. The goal was met, and he stayed true to his word.
