A Engenharia de Requisitos e o Projeto Arquitetural são duas atividades do processo de desenvolvimentode software que são fortemente relacionadas e sobrepostas. Apesar de existiremvárias abordagens de integração entre estas atividades, nenhuma delas está totalmenteconsolidada. Nesse sentido, prover métodos efetivos de integração entre requisitos e arquiteturaainda é um desafio em aberto da Engenharia de Software. Nesse contexto, o processoSTREAM (Strategy for Transition between Requirements and Architectural Models) apresentauma abordagem dirigida a modelos para gerar arquitetura de software inicial – descrita utilizandoa linguagem de descrição arquitetural Acme – a partir de modelos de requisitos em i*.Por outro lado, estudos recentes da comunidade de arquitetura de software têm enfatizado queespecificar arquitetura de software só em termos de visões arquiteturais não é suficiente. Há anecessidade de tratar também as decisões de projeto arquitetural e o rationale associado a elascomo entidades de primeira classe na especificação da arquitetura. No entanto, apesar de oSTREAM oferecer uma maneira sistemática de derivar modelos de arquitetura que traz algunsdos benefícios do uso do framework i* e de transformações de modelos, ele não dá suporte adocumentação de decisões arquiteturais e do rationale. Além disso, ele só prevê o refinamentoda arquitetura com um subconjunto de decisões arquiteturais de estrutura e não leva emconta decisões arquiteturais relacionados com tecnologia. Dessa forma, esta dissertação defineuma extensão do processo STREAM, denominada STREAM-ADD (Strategy for Transitionbetween Requirements and Architectural Models with Architectural Decisions Documentation).Esta abordagem tem o objetivo de sistematizar a documentação de decisões estruturais ede decisões de tecnologia no momento em que são tomadas e permite o refinamento da arquiteturade acordo com tais decisões. Diante disso, foi definido um template de documentaçãode decisões arquiteturais que relaciona o rationale da decisão aos elementos das linguagensfonte (i*) e alvo (Acme) do STREAM. Finalmente, para exemplificar a utilização da abordagem,o processo proposto neste trabalho foi usado para especificar a arquitetura do sistema deagendamento de cursos MyCourses.

Abstract:

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur elever med ADHD och dyslexi på mellanstadiet, deras vårdnadshavare och lärare upplever att de sociala relationerna dem emellan påverkar elevernas läs- och skrivutveckling. Studiens frågeställningar är följande: Vilka framgångsfaktorer ser eleverna, deras vårdnadshavare och lärare som betydelsefulla för att eleven ska lyckas med sin läs- och skrivutveckling? Vilka utmaningar ser informanterna att det finns i arbetet med elevens läs- och skrivutveckling? Hur upplever lärarna och vårdnadshavarna att samarbetet mellan skolan och hemmet påverkar elevens läs- och skrivutveckling? För att kunna uppnå syftet och besvara frågeställningarna har en kvalitativ studie genomförts, datainsamlingen har skett genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. Den insamlade empirin har analyserats genom en tematisk analysmodell. Resultatet visar att eleverna, vårdnadshavarna och lärarna upplever att deras sociala relationer dem emellan påverkar elevernas läs- och skrivutveckling. En framgångsfaktor för att eleverna ska kunna lyckas med sin läs- och skrivutveckling är att lärarna har kunskap om och visar intresse för elevernas diagnoser ADHD och dyslexi. Pedagogiska strategier och kompensatoriska hjälpmedel är ytterligare två faktorer som är betydelsefulla för att eleverna ska lyckas med sin läsning och skrivning. Utmaningar i elevernas läs- och skrivutveckling är att få vuxna att ha positiva förväntningar på eleverna, att skolan hittar strategier för att identifiera elevernas svårigheter tidigt och att alla vuxna i skolan visar förståelse och inte ifrågasätter eleverna och vårdnadshavarna. Eleverna med ADHD och dyslexi möter ofta utmaningar både socialt och kunskapsmässigt i skolan. Därför blir ett nära samarbete mellan hemmet och skolan betydelsefullt för elevernas läs- och skrivutveckling. Vårdnadshavarna behöver känna att skolan känns öppen, tillgänglig och inbjudande.

There were different kinds of additives used in the process of electroplating copper. The experiment focused on the effect of the electroplating procedure of copper by changing the thiourea concentration, observing the structure of the surface, rate of metal deposition, analysis of crystal structure and the change of resistivity with the equipments of SEM, EDS, XRD and four-point prove. The reason to use additives was to improve the roughness, smoothness and sameness of the coating. The acid sulfuric acid copper was the main electroplating solution due to it’s simple composition, stability, high current rate and high efficiency.  The results showed that when the additive of sulfur urea was at 10 ppm, the structure of the specimen was denser, the coating smoother, the deposition faster, resistivity higher and so on.

Discussed are all-fiber add/drop filters made of two well-mated side-polished fibers. In the former fiber directional coupler, one half-coupler has intracore Bragg gratings, but the other doesn't. These two polished fibers are separately glued onto a fixed plate and a three-axis translation stage. The coupling efficiency of such a coupler mainly depends on how they are aligned. In this thesis, we use a Si wafer as the polishing substrate in fabricating side-polished fibers. The advantages of these polished samples are low insertion losses, a long interaction length, ease of alignment, and excellent surface flatness. In comparison with those published all-fiber add/drop filters of the same structure, our devices show attractive or much improved characteristics in filtering spectral. The present fiber devices are found applications on optical wavelength division multiplexer (WDM), dense WDM (DWDM) systems, and other optical signal processings.

In this thesis, the theories of Coupled-Mode Theory(CMT), Beam Propagation Method(BPM), Finite-Difference-Time-Domain Method(FDTD) are introduced, studied and compared. They are employed to simulate the mode-coupling phenomenon between two parallel waveguides. FDTD is more convenient and reliable compared to BPM and CMT, in spite of tremendous computation memory and CPU processing time inevitably involved in FDTD calculation. A full-frequency spectrum of the designed optical add-drop multiplexer(OADM) could be easily obtained using a single shot of an ultra-short optical pulse input followed by Fast Fourier transform on the time variation of EM wave. In this paper, a FBG-assisted add-drop multiplexer was 2-dimensionally designed and investigated using FDTD method. It was demonstrated that an OADM can be easily designed using FDTD to divide three arbitrary chosen wavelengths into three individual output waveguides.

Abstract In this thesis, we design optical add/drop multiplexer (OADM) and study its applications in metropolitian area networks and/or DWDM subsystem. We propose a network architecture using -cell architecture to realize all optical networks architecture, in which the crucial modules of OADMs and optical cross-connects (OXCs) are implemented. Both of them make the network much more flexible and simple then ever. We introduce an example of “Double Ring -cell WDM network” to examine that OADM is indeed an importance part in the -cell architecture. For investigation of OADMs, we integrated them with fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) and some related optical components such as optical circulators and 1xN optical switches. To prevent the crosstalk and reflection by home made FBGs, the FBGs have high reflectivity of 99.9% and low side lobes. The FBGs also be temperature compensated to avoid them from wavelength misalignment with the corresponding laser source. Temperature coefficient before and after temperature compensated is 15 pm/℃ and 0.7 pm/℃, respectively. The four kinds of OADMs we made are: (1) Two identical OADMs module with the same four channels of 1542.4 nm,1545.6 nm,1547.1 nm and 1552.3 nm and as an add-drop pair in the optical network, (2) a 4-Ch reconfigurable OADM with insertion loss, intrachannel crosstalk and channel spacing of 5 dB, 25 dB and 1.6 nm, respectively, (3) a power compensated OADM with net gain of 5 dB (i.e., virtual insertion loss of 5 dB!) for the pass-through channel, and (4) a bi-directional OADM with 45 dB isolation for either direction. Finally, we conclude our achievements in thesis and suggested future works.

Nowadays, in many markets, firms customarily sell a product and provide separate “add-on” at extra cost. This study attempts to provide evidence that add-ons sold to enhance a product can influence the perceived utility of the base good itself. This study argues that consumers draw inferences from the mere availability of add-ons. Specifically, this study proposes that the improvements supplied by add-ons can be classified as either alignable or nonalignable and that they have opposing effects on evaluation. In addition, this study also tries to investigate the role of product information and product involvement. The results are as followed:1.When consumers uncertain about the value of product, the effects of add-ons on evaluation proved significant, alignable add-on affects evaluation negatively, but consumers judge the product to be more appealing when the firm offers a nonalignable add-on than when no such option exists.2.When consumers get product review information that reduces consumer uncertainty, which in turn lessens the impact of add-ons. The effects of alignable and nonalignable add-ons on evaluation weaken as consumer uncertainty about the value of the product diminishes.3.We take product involvement as a moderator, this study indicates that different level of product involvement will affect the product evaluation, the effects of add-ons on consumer product evaluation weaken in the high level of product involvement, but the effects of add-ons on consumer product evaluation still exists in the low level of product involvement. From a practical standpoint, these results highlight the need for firms to be mindful of the behavioral implications of making add-ons readily available in the marketplace.

This thesis analyzes social network asoption by consumers. The linkage with friends is nodeled as positive network effect. That is , the higher the amount of friends a user connects on a social network site, the higher the extra benefits she derives other than the direct ututility via usage. On the other hand, as new social network sites demonstrate: openness inproves connecting potential but gives way to privacy cncern.A privacy breaching event will rattle the socialty connected group to a drastic degree. Throung the interaction of both the positive and the negative network effects, we find that many types of social network equilibrium can be sustained.

As the advance in the technology, chips have become larger and larger, and it becomes more difficult for synchronous design, particularly as clocks get faster. The problems of clock distribution and clock skew minimization are becoming increasingly significant as the technology scales. Besides, the tasks performed on parts of a chip that are close together finish well before a cycle but can’t move on until the next clock cycle. To cope with this problem, some studies have proposed asynchronous design styles.In this thesis, we present a new Add-Compare-Select unit for Viterbi Decoders implemented with a 1-of-N asynchronous single track template. The Viterbi decoder is mainly restricted by the performance bottleneck – the ACS unit. If we can improve the performance of ACS unit, the performance of Viterbi decoder can be sped up, too. By adopting carry-save addition and most-significant-bit-first (MSB-First) comparison, we can fully utilize the advantages of asynchronous circuit so that the computation speed can vary with different input data patterns. We also analyze the expected performance given that every data pattern has the same probability of occurrence. Under that assumption, we can prove that the word length would not affect the performance of our design. A comparison between different circuit styles is also provided, which shows the performance of our design is potentially better than other designs. By constant field scaling, it can be seen that our design has 88.6% improvement in throughput when comparing with static CMOS design. It even has 18.5% improvement in throughput when comparing with fastest state-of-art self-resetting CMOS circuit style. In hardware implementation, our ACS unit and test circuit design are implemented in TSMC 0.18-μm CMOS process. The die size is 1.278mm x 1.018mm giving a total area of 1.30 mm2.

In response to the development of a next-generation networking (NGN) generalized multi-protocol label switching (GMPLS) technology is required for automatically switched optical network (ASON). Reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer (ROADM) is an indispensable device for the ASON, and the dense wavelength division multiplexed (DWDM) signals can be transmitted through the network under the management of the network administrator to configure dynamic customer needs and the desired quality of service (QoS). The ROADM can also increase the efficiency of utilizing the existing capacity of the optical fiber lines and can reduce or waive to set up additional optical fiber lines. This thesis studies a novel ROADM based on the arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) and the fiber Bragg grating (FBG) to overcome that the current ROADM cannot process that the input signal channels is greater than the wavelengths channels of AWG.Many types of ROADMs have been proposed and realized through different optical devices. Among these, hybrid optical circulator and FBG based ROADM is more attractive because of its low crosstalk and polarization insensitivity. However, it still suffers from many component counts and high insertion losses due to the use of many circulators and a multiplexer-demultiplexer pair. In this master thesis, we focus on demonstrating a novel ROADM and evaluating its crosstalk performance. It is found that the proposed ROADM has the advantage on extending the number of wavelength signal to make the system configurable and flexible.

This thesis investigates several reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexers (ROADM) with power compensation function. Here, we proposed both unidirectional and bi-directional ROADMs for optical networks applications. The ROADM is constructed by integrating fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs), optical circulators (OCs), optical switches (OSWs) and erbium-doped fiber amplifier. To avoid intraband crosstalk cause the signal deterioration, the home-made FBGs should have above 99.5% reflectivity after annealing. The tunable FBG with tuning range of 17 nm, while the wavelength fixed FBG has wavelength inaccurate less than 0.04 nm and low temperature coefficient of 0.7 pm/oC.We manufacture two kinds of ROADM. Firstly, we investigate a unidirectional ROADM. The channel spacing is based on the ITU-T grid of 100 GHz in 1547.7-, 1548.5- and the 1549.3 nm. The fourth channel is to use a tunable FBG to increase the add/drop feasibility. Insertion loss and gain of the ROADM are 4.3 dB and 14 dB, respectively. In a 25 km standard fiber transmission without dispersion compensation, power penalty is only 0.8 dB at the dropped port for 10 Gb/s, bit error rate (BER) measurement. We also design another three kinds of unidirectional multichannel ROADMs and analyze their characteristics.Secondly, we experimentally demonstrate a bidirectional ROADM including power compensation function. The insertion loss and gain of it are 5.3 dB and 17 dB, respectively. Moreover, we design another kind of bidirectional ROADM and analyze its characteristics. Finally, we conclude our achievements in this thesis and suggested future works.

Reconfigurable add/drop nodes will enhance metro network flexibility and be able to provide the much needed functionalities. However, due to the high insertion loss of the add/drop engine (typically >10dB), 100% traffic add/drop nodes need more optical amplifiers and operational expenditure in the transmission systems. In fact, it is good enough to provide adequate 50% traffic add/drop capability in the recent network. Therefore, we create the novel network structure by using the dispersion-free interleaver pairs. In this thesis, we set up an ideal metro network by the new interleaver module on the commercial simulated platform. By implementing the virtual network, we demonstrate the impacts on system performance and predict the transmission possibility for the 40-Gb/s DWDM system. The architecture can also be easily modified to more complex model and will provide the important predicts of the parameters and results in the future experiment.

In this thesis we develope a DSP interface card, with subroutines and application examples. The card use a DSP uC for on-line data processing, which share the computation loading of PC. With A/D, D/A converters and timer generator on board, this card can serve as a general-purpose experimental card. Furether more the A/D, D/A converters can do multi-channel simultaneous sampling so that it well suit MIMO control and other multi- channel experiments. It provides decoding circuits of SRAM, I/O ports, A/D, and D/A. The addressing of I/O ports and output range are adjustable. It also provides a circuit for PC to boot the DSP. Through 8/16 bits DMA interfacing circuit, the card can transmite data back to PC. Wait state setting circuit allow slow IC sets. Besides the hardware described above, software examples are provided as following. [Boot & DMA data transmission] In this example, PC boots sample program onto the DSP and then DSP transmites the sample program back to PC through DMA. With this example we can varify data transmission functions. [A/D convertion & DMA data transfer] In this example, The DSP samples data through A/D converter and then transmites the data to PC to verify the ADC functions. [A/D & D/ A convertion] In this example, the DSP samples data through A/D converter and then send the data out through D/A converter. Using this example, we verify the DAC function of our card. As a practical case, an on-line FFT algorithm is implemented on our experimental card. Through this case, reader can understand haw to construct a firmware system with our board.

Farmer always applying the fresh chicken manure in producing crops in our country, because of the fresh chicken manure has high nitrogen and low carbon, fertility and cheaper. However, It also generates a lot of environmental problems in soil and atmosphere. This study used the fresh chicken manure for the main materials, adding and mixing the different adjustment materials, such as sawdust, reflow bacterium and mushroom cultivation waste bags. Adjust the initial carbon-nitrogen ratio to about 11 and analyze the Ferment mixture in physics, chemistry and the biological. In the variation of temperature, moisture content, pH, C/N and germination ratio, showed that the regulation above 45℃ high temperature with compost D (mixed by mushroom cultivation waste bags) for 16 days, the PH of all the compost was alkaline. And the variation in carbon-nitrogen ratio (C/N) was lower than initial but still above 10, was comply with the C/N standard. The study results show that, the compost for mixed by sawdust, reflow bacterium and mushroom cultivation waste bags, even though the initial C/N less than 25 to 30, the composting still could be complete.The pot experiment used the compost D for plant food, which was the best of the result of seed-germination percentage test. The report showed the grain yield will be higher with the plant food increase, but the 2DF (double of the recommended conventional nitrogen application) was not significantly higher than the 4DF (quadruple of the recommended conventional nitrogen application).

We used to check the legality of the ticket at the entering fare gate and the exiting fare gate while taking the rail transport. However, due to the different rail transport systems, some people may use these loopholes to sneak into stations without a ticket. Therefore, it is important to set up the checkpoint on the train. Thanks to the release of e-ticket, automated fare collection system has been substituted for the ticket checking by staff nowadays. But ticket checkings on the train are still predominantly based on manual operation. In order to effectively prevent train-jumpers, the conductor needs to continuously check tickets to every passenger. As far as conductors are concerned, manual operation not only increases their burden, but causes the inconvenience of passengers, and increasing the loss of rail companies in the meanwhile. For improving work efficiency of conductors, diminishing the possibility of train-jumpers, and reducing the loss made by train-jumpers, under the existing rail transport systems, this study not only aims to discuss how to design an information system to assist conductors in checking tickets, but proposes a mechanism of switching manual operation to automated ones. We plan to offer add-value m-ticket system which integrates automated ticket checking system inside on the train, and apply to smart phone for the purpose of raising passengers’ satisfactions, and the ratio of automated checking. At last, to make the research more practical, we conceive of any further add-value m-ticket system provided on the train in the future, modeling the type and operating interface. For protecting e-ticket against forging and falsifying, we also use security design to strengthen it.

Optical resonators have been utilized in many different fields recently for its extremely high Q and reasonably good power output characteristics. Square resonator is a dielectric waveguide placed between two waveguide channels drops a specific wavelength of input signals. According to the excellent add-drop capability, the square resonator is suitable for OADM systems. In general design of square resonator, the power transferred from input waveguide through resonators to output waveguide was only 73% maximum. In order to overcome such drawbacks, we introduced the grating configurations in some specific regions to enhance the performance of the device. As a result, the joined parts reflected the loss energy back into the resonators to resonate again. Both the dropped power and Q factor were all increased to a better status for actual applications. In this thesis, the analysis on square resonator as an add-drop filter was done by numerical simulation. The behavior of the system with the presence of grating was studied and revealed by suitable numerical methods.

With an explosion in the growth of knowledge, and the coming internet era, the demand for bandwidth has increased drastically, making the all-optical network an inevitable trend. In particular, the development of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology has really emphasized the superiority of the optical networks. Performing the important network resource allocation function is the optical add / drop multiplexer which directly adds or drops wavelengths. It supports flexible provisioning, wavelengths add / drop, and other requirements resulting from a complex and constantly changing environment in the metro-core networks. Such functions enable the add / drop multiplexer to be a key component in the optical networks. The purpose of this study is to take advantage of the bulk micromachining, an innovative approach in the MEMS technology, and to apply it in the optical add/ drop multiplexer used in optical networks to improve optical performance. By use of unique characteristics of vertical crystal planes in bulk micromachining, two-sided mirrors for light reflection can be produced. Its mirror surfaces are of extremely superior quality, with a radius of curvature of 130 meters, and a root-mean-square roughness of below 8 nm. These qualities facilitate its use in optical add / drop multiplexer applications. In terms of mechanical properties, this study begins with the most basic concepts of mechanics, analyzing the static interaction among magnetic, electrostatic, and mechanical force. The actuating mechanism is utilizing the magnetic ability of not being affected by distance and electrostatic force special quality to perform addressable control. In this approach, it may require less electrical and magnetic energy to drive it. The clamping-down voltage requires 100 volts, while the magnetic full field applied is 25 gausses. In addition, the switching times for switch-on and switch-off are measured to be 50 ms and 110 ms, respectively. Test results show that the design concept for this study is feasible. As expected, the two-sided mirrors possess excellent flatness and roughness, and require low driving voltage and magnetic field. For use of flexible, reconfigurable OADM, the switching function has been verified. If additional peripheral functions such as multiplexing and de-multiplexing can also be integrated into the devices in the future, making it a reconfigurable OADM, then it is bound to play an important role in the field of optical networking applications.

This study adding game elements in concept assessment try to measure student’s learning achievement, and compare this result with traditional concept assessment to see what’s the difference between traditional concept assessment and adding game element in concept assessment. Traditional concept assessment using SPRT method in multiple-choice to measure student’s concept mastery, our study using the same method and present this method in concept game so that when student during this assessment they won’t feel boring and tiring.Our study focus on observe each student’s feedback and their concept mastery by using game element to display concept assessment, and analyze is using concept game assessment can shorten student’s test time and improve student learning concept knowledge after assessment, the result shows that when student using concept game assessment they can know their concept mastery immediately by seeing process bar present as their life so the test time will be shorten, and student’s concept knowledge was improved after concept game assessment. Student’s feedback shows that they prefer concept game assessment because they can measure their concept mastery during the concept game assessment, this study shows that adding game element in concept assessment can improve student’s concept mastery and shorten the test time student took.

In this study, we use the swelling characteristics of bentonite to discussion about the performance of bentonite mortar anti-seepage and the performance of resistance to sulfate. And add the AE water-reducing to improve its workability.To compare with different rate of bentonite added at different ratio of AE water-reducing in the condition of Standard Test for Flow Table. We planning in different water-cement ratio (0.445,0.485,0.550) to test for its fresh properties and hardened properties, and discussion the effect by AE water-reducing on the marine engineering.According to this study, adding bentonite will make the flow value dropped, and affecting the workability. Because of the positive ion exchange properties between bentonite and water will make it a high volume exchange rate, it means that absorption is high, so when the mixing time, the bentonite will form clumps, in this study, we add the AE water-reducing to improve.After we add AE water-reducing, the absorption, compressive strength are increase, but we still had to pay attention to the ratio between bentonite and AE water-reducing, the strength of structure perhaps decrease if added too much bentonite.This study can get the best positive effect when added ratio of 0.25% of bentonite to replaced cement.

In this thesis, it discussed the application of defects in the photonic crystals could be design to produce the multi-wavelength. Photonic crystals (PCs) are nanostructured materials in which a periodic variation of the dielectric constant of the material results in a photonic band gap. Photons with wavelengths or energies in this band gap cannot travel through the crystal. By introducing defects into PCs, it is possible to build waveguides that can channel light along certain paths. It is also possible to construct microcavities that can localize photons in extremely small volumes. First, we compute the photonic crystals dispersion relations and find the bandgap out by the plane wave expansion method (PWE) in the frequency domain. Then, the finite difference time domain method (FDTD) with the perfectly matched layer boundary conditions is solved Maxwell’s equations, namely simulated the movement behavior of the Photonic crystals. By properly varying the size of the defect on the PCs, it could really drop the particular wavelength from the surface. In addition, by modulating the size of the cavity on the PCs, it introduced the particular wavelength into the waveguide. Finally, we proposed the two structures that could function as dense /coarse wavelength division multiplexers (DWDM / CWDM). It would be a potential key component in the applications of ultra-high-speed and ultra-high-capacity optical communication and optical data processing systems. Deciding that the nanofabrication improves gradually, it will demonstrate a practical breakthrough for the realization of devices based on the photonic crystal integrated circuits.

This research tries to improve corrosion resistance of LAZ1110, LAZ1110 +Be, LAZ1110 +Sc, LAZ1110 +Be +Sc magnesium alloys by means of micro-arc anodizing. In the experiment, the electrolytic solution is composed of 40gl-1 Na2SiO3, 100gl-1 NaOH, 20gl-1 NaPO2and 80gl-1(COOH)2.2H2O in distilled water. After the micro-arc anodizing treatment, it will discuss to various parameters.The results indicated that the anodic oxidation film has better corrosion performance under the pulse current condition. In four materials of LAZ1110, LAZ1110 +Be, LAZ1110 +Sc, LAZ1110 +Be +Sc magnesium alloys, LAZ1110 +Be have the worst of corrosion resistance, and LAZ1110 +Sc have the best of corrosion resistance, in the basic extrapolate, add the Be element have decrease the oxidation on the magnesium alloys surface, this phenomenon destroy the anodic oxidation film of LAZ1110 +Be during micro-arc anodizing treatment, add the Sc element have increase the effect of corrosion resistance.Temperature, frequency, time, current density, duty cycle and electrolytic concentration have an influence on micro-structure and corrosion performance of anodic films. In our research, it fixed current density and another parameter, and it used various of time parameter to find out the best operate condition, the results indicated that at 8min of operate condition of micro-arc anodizing treatment have the best of anodic oxidation film.

Abstract In SONET/SDH network, add/drop multiplexer (ADM) is a key network element. It drops several sub-channels of a high- speed link as outputs of low-speed links, and adds up to the same number of sub-channels to the high-speed link from the inputs of the low-speed links. Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) is a new transfer technology, which combines the advantages of circuit-switching and flexibility of packet-switching. It is possible for ATM to transmit almost all kinds of services. To use ATM as the backbone network of transmission, it must be support existing circuit-switched services. For constant bit rate (CBR) service with delay constraint, ATM adaptation layer type 1 (AAL1) is used to transmit asynchronous digital signals from plesiosynchronous digital hierarchy (PDH). It is called circuit emulation to transport an asynchronous digital through ATM network. With ATM transport technology and adaptation of AAL1, an ATM ADM similar to SONET/SDH ADM is designed. In SONET/ SDH ADM, each sub-channel is byte-multiplexed with regards to reference position to SONET/SDH transmission framing. In ATM ADM, although its physical medium is based on SONET/SDH, each sub-channel, termed virtual channel in ATM, is a cell- multiplexed with a label in the cell header to indicate the connection. The cell is self-supported, so there is no TSI problem. In the design, there are four high-speed 155.52 MHz STM-1/STS-3c link called SO150. SO150 can add/drop up to 64 lines of E1 signal (2048KHz). There are 16 CE2 boards each handling 4 E1 tributaries for circuit emulation. The SCU board is designed for control and management functions. The minimal ATM ADM system can be built for system integration and testing.

Polylactic acid has been widely used in various fields, in which packaging materials are the largest field of use, but polylactic acid is hard and brittle in nature and has poor elasticity, so many products are limited by this property. Therefore, this experiment uses inorganic material P25 nano titanium dioxide and anatase type nano titanium dioxide to be added to polylactic acid, by adding nano titanium dioxide powder as a nucleating agent, and utilizing nano titanium dioxide to absorb ultraviolet light properties, improve Polylactic acid composites are mechanical in nature and have UV resistance.In this study, polylactic acid was mixed with P25 nano titanium dioxide and anatase nano titanium dioxide by a plastic spectrometer, and the addition ratio was 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8%, 1.0%, and then the composite material was used. Conduct various analysis of properties.The results show that the addition of nano titanium dioxide has a significant increase in the crystallization rate and crystallinity of polylactic acid, and in the analysis of optical properties, the coverage of UVA, UVB and UVC of composite materials is over 90%, and the elasticity is poor. The serious defects of polylactic acid materials, using dynamic mechanical analyzer analysis results show that the composite material is significantly lower than the pure material, the storage modulus is reduced by a factor of ten, representing a significant increase in material elasticity.

In this thesis, the self-repair (SR) carry-select adder (CSA) design is proposed. The proposed CSA circuit has the capability of on-line totally self-checking (TSC) all single stack-at faults occurred. There are two kinds of TSC circuits proposed, one is based on conventional CSA and the other is based on CSA with add-one circuit. Because of dual backup circuits be arranged in the self-repair mechanism, it has the capability for repairing single or dual faulty function unit. As a result, the proposed self-repair carry-select adder design has higher reliability.  Based on TSMC 0.18μm process technology, the experimental results show that the TSC with conventional CSA has less 40% power dissipation, and the TSC with CSA with add-one circuit has reduced 22% transistor count. Experiment result also shows that our design is valid and practical.

In this thesis, we have reviewed state-of-the-art works regarding SOA's characteristics of three functions including amplification, detection, and modulation. We have proposed SOA- based ADM's that can minimize the number of optical components and can replace conventional ADM's which include the O/E and E/ O conversion. Our proposed SOA-based ADM is also bit-rate independent. The use of SOA as an SCM-ADM has been experimentally demonstrated in a 50 km link with two BPSK channels at 100 Mb/s. The BER's of three functions can be below 1e-9 all at the same time. System limitations on increasing the cascaded SCM-ADM's have been studied. The nonlinear distortions due to SOA concatenation may limit the number of cascades to less 15. These nonlinear distortions is mainly from the second order intermodulation.

Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM) is a self-compacted, flowable material. Present paper mostly used waste glass replace different parts of fine aggregates. The stress-strain curves are obtained by the uniaxial compression test. And added a medicine、decreased different parts of coarse aggregates、take different ratio of admixture, fly ash、slag、soil, into binders、used soil and waste glass replace all of the fine aggregates to conferred the influence of each variable. Correlated compress strength with slump and economy, and try to find a better range to supply to engineering field.The results show that the rate of fine aggregates replace with waste glass higher, the slump will be lower and the compress strength will be better. Decrease coarse aggregates is good to slump. Different binders have different effect on compress strength. But if we take economy into account, use soil and waste glass replace all of the fine aggregates is development.

In this thesis, we propose and implement a concatenation synthesis system to synthesize the singing voice with background music. For all syllables in phonetic symbols word table, we record three different pitches to build our corpus. The synthesis informations, including velocity, note number, start time and end time are extracted from the main melody in MIDI. Runs and riffs information was added into consideration afterward. We use TD-PSOLA to modify the synthesis units in time domain. At last, we add back the background music extracted from MIDI to our synthesis song. We implemented a user interface for users to synthesize songs. This interface can be used to adjust the synthesis songs, for example, adjust the overall pitches in the song, modify syllables, etc. Finally, we did some experiments to evaluate the quality, clarity and similarity of the synthesis songs. The results show that the proposed method achieve better results with simple songs than with fast songs. In our experiments, the synthesis songs are divided into seven categories, including nursery rhymes, folk, lyrical, fast pace, solemn and stirring, Chinese style, Rhythm and blues. The proposed method can feasibly apply other languages, and can be used in humming singing synthesis.

In digital signal processing and multimedia applications, floating-point(FP) multiplication and addition are the most commonly used operations. In addition, FP multiplication operations are frequently followed by the FP addition operations. Therefore, in order to achieve high performance and low cost, multiplication and addition are usually combined into a single unit, known as the FP Multiply-Add Fused (MAF). On the other hand, the mobile devices nowadays are rapidly developing. For this kind of devices, performance and power sustainability have to become the major trend in the research area. As a result, the mechanisms to reduce energy consumption become more important. Therefore, we propose a multi-mode FP MAF based on the concept of iterative multiplication and truncated addition, to achieve different operating modes with different errors. This MAF, with a total of seven modes, includes three modes for the FP multiply-accumulate operations, two modes for single FP multiplication operation and single FP addition operation, respectively. FP multiply-accumulate operations provide three modes to user, and this three modes have 0%, 0.328% and 1.107% of error. The 0% error is the same with the standard IEEE754 single-precision FP Multiply-Add Fused operations. For FP multiplication and FP addition operations, the proposed MAF allows users to choose two kinds of error modes, which are 0%, 0.328% error for FP multiplication and 0%, 0.781% error for FP addition. The 0% error is the same with the standard IEEE754 single-precision floating-point operations.When compared with the standard IEEE754 single-precision FP MAF, the proposed multi-mode FP MAF architecture has 4.5% less area and increase about 22% delay to achieve the effect of multi-mode.To demonstrate the power efficiency of proposed FP MAF, it is used to perform the operations of FP MAF, FP multiplication, and FP addition in the application of RGB to YUV format conversion. Experimental results show that, the proposed multi-mode FP MAF can significantly reduce power consumption when the modes with error are adopted.

Abstract In SONET/SDH network, add/drop multiplexer (ADM) is a key network element. It drops several sub-channels of a high- speed link as outputs of low-speed links, and adds up to the same number of sub-channels to the high-speed link from the inputs of the low-speed links. Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) is a new transfer technology, which combines the advantages of circuit-switching and flexibility of packet-switching. It is possible for ATM to transmit almost all kinds of services. To use ATM as the backbone network of transmission, it must support existing circuit-switched services. For constant bit rate (CBR) service with delay constraint, ATM adaptation layer type 1 (AAL1) is used to transmit asynchronous digital signals from plesiochronous digital hierarchy (PDH). It is called circuit emulation to transport an asynchronous digital through ATM network. With ATM transport technology and adaptation of AAL1, an ATM ADM similar to SONET/SDH ADM is designed. In SONET/SDH ADM, each sub-channel is byte-multiplexed with regards to reference position to SONET/SDH transmission framing. In ATM ADM, although its physical medium is based on SONET/SDH, each sub-channel, termed virtual channel in ATM, is cell-multiplexed with a label in the cell header to indicate the connection. The cell is self-supported, so there is no TSI problem. In the design, there are four high-speed 155.52 MHz STM-1/STS-3c link called SO150. SO150 can add/drop up to 64 lines of E1 signal (2048KHz). There are 16 CE2 boards each handling 4 E1 tributaries for circuit emulation. The SCU board is designed for control and management functions. The minimal ATM ADM system can be built for system integration and testing.

This thesis mainly focuses on the design of bidirectional optical add/drop multiplexers (Bi-OADMs) based on fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) and some related optical components. We also analyze their characteristics in lightwave transmission. Firstly, we propose several kinds of Bi-OADMs. The issue of insertion loss in Bi-OADMs is also discussed. Regarding the experimental part, we measure optical spectra and the bit error rate (BER) performances of four proposed Bi-OADM modules. The results are summary as follows: insertion loss of Bi-OAMD configuration No.1 at the dropped, passed-through and added channels are 4.88-, 8.24- and 6.31 dB, respectively. Under the condition of 25 km transmission, power penalty in the dropped channel is only 0.58 dB; while that in the passed-through channel with 50 Km fiber transmission is 1.6 dB under 2.5 Gb/s BER measurement in unidirectional transmission case. Power penalty at the dropped and passed-through ports are 0.64- and 1.8 dB, respectively, in bidirectional transmission. Insertion losses of Bi-OAMD configuration No.2 at the dropped, passed-through and added channels are 4.58-, 4.46- and 4.42 dB, respectively. Power penalty in the dropped and passed-through channels are 0.36- and 0.62 dB, respectively, under a 2.5 Gb/s BER measurement in unidirectional transmission, while those in the dropped and passed-through channels are 0.42- and 0.76 dB, respectively, in bidirectional transmission. In the former two examples, insertion loss Bi-OADMs is a big problem, we design two novel configurations of Bi-OADMs have the merit of power compensation. The first one is writing FBG in erbium doped fiber It may enhance the reflectivity of erbium doped-FBG to 98.6 % by using hydrogen loading method, while the net gain at the dropped, passed-through and added ports are 0.96-, 0.84- and 0.16 dB, respectively. Power penalty in the dropped and passed-through channels are 0.49- and 0.76 dB, respectively, in the unidirectional transmission under 2.5 Gb/s BER measurement, while those in the dropped and passed-through channels are 0.66- and 1 dB, respectively, in bidirectional transmission. The second proposal is Bi-OADM integrated erbium doped fiber. Net gains at the dropped, passed-through and added channels are 4.65-, 14.27- and 4.63 dB, respectively. Power penalty in the dropped and passed-through channels are 0.41- and 0.65 dB, respectively, in unidirectional transmission, while those in the dropped and passed-through channels are 0.53- and 0.74 dB, respectively, in bidirectional transmission. Finally, we conclude our achievements in this thesis and suggested future works.

Object:The prevalence of diabetes in the world is rising, and the diabetes is the fourth cause of death in Taiwan. The treatment of diabetes and its drug safety assessment become urgent. This study explores the relationship between add-on oral hypoglycemic agents and cardiovascular events to realize the safety of add-on oral hypoglycemic agents.Method:This study includes 13820 patients, which were first diagnosed with diabetes and over twenty years old in Taiwan National Health Insurance Health Database, from 2009 to 2012. We use time-dependent Cox proportional hazard model to consider the time from being diagnosed with diabetes to occurrence of side effect and the change of medicine usage over time into the model. With the model, we explore the relationship between add-on oral hypoglycemic agents and cardiovascular events under the control of patients’ characters and other combined diseases. On the other hand, the number of events and medicine usage is few, which could influence the estimation of result. Therefore, the research also use Bayesian model to do the further analysis.Conclusion:If the patients don’t take metformin before taking Glinides or Dipeptidyl peptidase-4, the risk of occurrence of hospitalization due to myocardial infarction will be higher than the others. However, if the patients take metformin before Dipeptidyl peptidase-4, the risk of occurrence of hospitalization due to myocardial infarction will decrease. In addition, no matter how many months diabetes patients take metformin before alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, the risk of occurrence of hospitalization due to myocardial infarction will be the lowest. If the patients don’t take metformin before Glinides, alpha-glucosidase inhibitors or Dipeptidyl peptidase-4, the risk of occurrence of hospitalization due to heart failure will be higher for these drugs than the others. However, if the patients take metformin before Dipeptidyl peptidase-4, the risk of occurrence of hospitalization due to heart failure will decrease. If the patients don’t take metformin before taking Glinides or alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, the risk of occurrence of hospitalization due to ischemic stroke will be higher than the others.

The raw materials of the commercially available enzyme preparations in Taiwan contain wild yeast and bacteria. If they are not inhibited by probiotics during fermentation, the finished enzyme may produce undesirable flavors and tend to reduce consumer preference for the product, so it is desirable that the probiotics of the major bacterial species become dominant species in the fermentation process. , giving the enzyme product a good flavor.In the process of traditional fermentation production of enzymes, if the taste of alcohol and vinegar is produced, other additives will be added to suppress and reduce these undesired tastes; in the past, the taste and vinegar taste of the wine was found during the enzyme fermentation, which is attributed to An abnormality in quality control. This is also a failure. It is hoped that by discovering probiotics with better organoleptic properties such as overall acceptability, flavor, sweetness and sourness, it will become a dominant species in the process of making enzyme products, and it can inhibit the undesirable flavor of bacteria. Because probiotics produce acid, they inhibit the production of wine in wild yeast.Probiotics are relatively easy to control strains. Their functions and methods of use are widely studied. Only by selecting the right strain can the enzyme product have good natural quality and flavor.The three groups of dominant bacteria selected in this study, in collaboration with seven brands, used each brand's formula plus three groups of preferred dominant flora to have a good effect on the overall acceptance of consumer sensory evaluation. Brewery spent grains(BSG) is generated during the production of beer and is considered to be a maximum industrial by-product. In 2010, 1.69 billion hectolitre of beer from barley was produced worldwide (FAOSTAT,2010). Approximately 15–20 kilogram of BSG is produced per every hectolitre of beer, resulting in annual production of 25.3-33.8 million tonnes of BSG worldwide BSG is rich dietary fiber, that has promote gastrointestinal peristalsis, prevent cardiovascular disease, lower bloodcholesterol and stabilize blood sugar. In the diet, dietary fiber can increase satiety and reduce calories intake to achieve weight control. Collect commercial granola bar on the market and evaluate demands, nutrients, each serving and other relevant information as a reference. Investigate the effect of different preparation process for using drying BSG and oatmeal as a raw material to make high-fiber granola bar, and analysis that chemical composition and physical properties. The experiment conditions include the particle size and added percentage of BSG, baking time, baking temperature, calorie calculation and increase the water-soluble dietary fiber, shape and formability of the finished product, mouthful and flavor enhance, those to get the most suitable conditions for making of high-fiber granola bar.After drying BSG of total dietary fiber (TDF)content was 65.82 ± 2.72%. Added 25% BSG for high-fiber granola bar, baking temperatures 160/140 ℃(up/under), 30 minutes were more suitable conditions for color, texture and dietary fiber content. Finally,half butter and half Fibersol-2 formulation that panelists who like it.Each per serving of granola bar is 40 g, 175Kcal and 12.62g contentof dietary fiber. Per serving of dietary fiber content can reach recommended daily intake of 1/2.SDF source of the granola bar are oatmeal、Fibersol-2 and Isomatooligosaccharides.SDF content of the granola bar from the original 1.08 g / serving increased to 3.03 g / serving. Not only energy reduced 27% and SDF content increased 2.8 fold.Milling BSG fine also affects the body base structure and mouthful of the granola bar.AddedFibersol-2 that decreased calories and shape of bar which cutting surface had making better, in addition to ,water-soluble dietary fiber (SDF) content was increased. Replaced milk, white egg and sugar powder with glycerol and sorbitol which really upgrade the mouthful and wettability of thegranola bar.

We investigate the value of Funds of CTAs Funds by the hand-collected data of the CTAs holdings. This data set of holdings allows us to research three issues.(1) Which type of CTAs would have higher probability to be hired (2) Is there has differences in excess return between CTAs was hired by FoFs manager and CTAs fired out by FoFs manager? (3)Is the probability of liquidated increasing after the CTAs was fired by FoFs manager? We find that FoFs hire CTAs that might be more difficult for individual investors than for institutional high-worth investors to access. FoFs hire larger and older CTAs with more restrictive liquidity and higher minimum investments in first issue. We find that CTAs which hold by FoFs can generate positive alpha and CTAs fire by FoFs generate negative alpha but they are statistically insignificant both in second issue. We find evidence that a primary source of FoF value comes from FoFs manager take care of their CTAs holdings in last issue. CTAs fired by FoFs are more likely to fail. The hazard rate for CTAs fired by FoFs is 455% higher than comparable CTAs.

In this thesis, we design and investigate optical add drop multiplexers (OADMs) based on fiber Bragg gratings and related optical components. For the OADM design, we propose several kinds of reconfigurable OADMs. They are based on strain-tunable and/or switching mechanism. Optical loss compensation and gain equalization issues are also disused. For OADMs investigation, we fabricate two-channel reconfigurable switching OADM, two- channel reconfigurable strain-tunable OADM and four-channel fixed type OADM. The pass-through (insertion) loss of them are 3.5dB, 2dB and 4dB respectively. We study the power penalty of OADM included wavelength misalignment and intraband crosstalk. The power penalties of wavelength misalignment are 0.2dB, 1.7dB and 3dB for 0.02nm, 0.03nm and 0.05nm. The power penalty of intraband crosstalk is only 0.1dB, because we use the extra-high reflectivity (99.9%) of home-made FBG. We also measure the bit error rate (BER) performance of OADM(s) in a lightwave system. Power penalty of OADM in a 25 km single-mode fiber is 0.5dB, compared to back to back measurement. Finally, we conclude the achievements in this thesis and suggest future work.

In this thesis, we present the design of a floating-point multiply-add instruction that can improve greatly the performance of media processors. The proposed instruction adopts the Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) technique, which makes several multimedia data be processed in parallel to significantly increase the performance of multimedia applications. In addition, the instruction is compatible with IEEE binary floating-point arithmetic. In the design of floating-point multiply-add instruction, we use the technologies of Booth radix-4 encoder/decoder, Dadda tree and carry look ahead adder (CLA) to design our multiplier. In order to improve the performance of the floating-point adder. The absolution circuit in the adder is designed into the multiplier. Besides, the rounding circuit is not designed into the multiplier to get a cost-effective solution. Eventually, the multiplier is divide to four stages with pipeline technology. We modify the Barrel shifter to implement the left shifter and the right shifter of the adder. They are used in the pre-alignment circuit and normalization circuit of the adder respectively. We also analyze the relationship between mantissas and signed signals in the floating-point addition to design the prediction circuit of the sign and mantissas determination circuit. We adopt the LZA techniques to predict the leading one in the sum of mantissas and modify a LZD algorithm to implement a 25-bit LZD into our adder to be used in addition of mantissas. Similar to the multiplier, the adder is divide to five stages with pipeline technology. The multiply-add circuit contains two multipliers and one adder. The total stages of this circuit are nine. We compare the performance in of propose instruction and Intel SSE instructions. If we want multiply-add to execute n times, Intel’s SSE instructions will spend double time than ours. In the synthesis of circuit of floating-point multiply-add instruction, 0.6μm and 0.35μm cell library are used. Since the maximum delay is smaller than 10.5 ns, the maximum clock rate of the instruction is high than 90 MHz when the 0.6μm cell library is used. In addition, by using 0.35μm cell library the maximum delay is smaller than 4 ns, so the maximum clock rate of the instruction executed 250 MHz. Eventually, most of the multimedia applications will be speeded up by this novel instruction.

A novel which takes emperor as a leading role is usually be sorted into two groups, an interesting episode or a legend and a novel emphasizing indulging in sensual pleasure. However, “Sui Yang-ti Yen-Shih” can not be classified into any kind of type above in previous research. Some researchers take “Sui Yang-ti Yen-Shih” as a historical story, but some think that the depiction in sentiment and life is not allowed to neglect. This research is based on former discussion, and attempts to present unique meaning of novel. Starting from rewriting historical documents and short stories, we observe that how the character of novel is added into historical materials, and how the author attracts readers in popularization process. The second section of our research starts from the title “yen,” and in the view of “rewrite,” we discuss how the glamorous and odd characters in “Sui Yang-ti Yen-Shih” is emphasized and presented. We analyze how “Sui Yang-ti Yen-Shih” touches sentimental factors, and how it builds the image of emperor, Sui Yang-ti, in the third section of this paper. The fourth section is to investigate the relationship between history and novel, and compare “Sui Yang-ti Yen-Shih” with other historical novels about Sui Yang-ti.

The main purpose in our research is to analyze whether hedge fund managers who dynamically manage the level of active risk can generate a superior performance. Our results indicate that funds with low active risk and low volatility in active risk outperform, on average, funds with high active risk and high volatility in active risk. The formers tend to show higher risk adjusted returns, a higher information ratio, a higher Sharpe ratio, a higher manipulation-proof performance measure but lower management and incentive fees. The reason behind the results could be the overconfidence of hedge fund managers or the option-like characteristics of the compensation structure which give hedge fund managers an incentive to take on excess active risk. Finally, we follow Titman and Tiu (2011) and use R-squares as first criteria for picking talented hedge fund managers. We next use active risk and active risk volatility as another two standards to eliminate potential gambling funds. We find that hedge funds that exhibit lower R-squares and simultaneously control active risk and its volatility under a low predetermined level have better risk adjusted performance.

The use of a Wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) based communication system allows for better utilization of the spectral bandwidth resources available to the system. The Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (OADM) is very important component in the system and the main function is the selective wavelength. In OADMs configuration, it is usually design to add and drop fixed wavelength channels. However, we will propose a new simplified and low-cost configuration based on tunable OADM with thermal controller. In addition, the low dispersion filter is also obtained by the temperature distribution.When the transmission capacity in the system want to be increased, the transmission bandwidth must drop for 0.8 nm to 0.4 nm or more narrow such as Dense Wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM). Then, the passband of a phase-shift FBG can be smaller than 10 pm. The phase-shift FBG will become an important component because it has applied to the distributed feedback (DFB) fiber lasers, tunable loss filters and so on. The study has proposed a synthesis technique for the reconstruction of the multiple parameters using a genetic algorithm and two thermally modulated intensity spectra.
