PORTLAND, Oregon — This weekend transitions us into a new month, the start of Pride Month, and really marks the kick off for summer outdoor events in Portland.

This weekend brings a Pride Ride, the Starlight Parade, Portland Rose Festival City Fair and much more — no matter what, there's something for everyone.

AANHPI Heritage Month celebration

When: May 4-31
Where:Lan Su Chinese Garden, 239 Northwest Everett Street, Portland
What's going on:Come out and join Lan Su Chinese Garden for its four-week-long celebration of special cultural programs and performances for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage (AANHPI) Heritage Month. Portland's Chinese garden has partnered with more than 20 local cultural organizations to present and explore the history, traditions and arts of AANHPI cultures.

The 9th Vanport Mosaic Festival

When: May 18 - June 1
Where:Various locations across Portland
What's going on:Vanport, once Oregon's second-largest city, was destroyed by a flood in 1948 that left 18,000 people homeless. In observance of the 76th anniversary of the flood, the 15-day festival of "memory activism" will commemorate the disaster with community-minded presentations, exhibits, documentary screenings, tours and more. The event is free to all.

Grand Lodge Brewfest

When:June 1
Where:3505 Pacific Avenue, Forest Grove, OR
What's going on: McMenamins Grand Lodge is hosting its second-ever brewfest this weekend. The 21 and over fest will be held from 2-8 p.m.. It will offer 24 beers on tap to test, five ciders to sip, one coffee roaster to uplift, food and live music. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to get comfortable while soaking up the sun. A commemorative glass is included with your ticket purchase.

Starlight Parade

When:June 3
Where: Tom McCall Waterfront Park, 98 Southwest Naito Parkway, OR
What's going on: CareOregon Starlight Parade is one of the most popular events of the RoseFestivalas the parade lights up the streets of downtown. This bright tradition features marching bands and flood-lit floats, glow-in-the-dark umbrellas and more. You can enjoy the fun in-person or from the comfort of your couch. Founder and CEO of The Sports Bra, Jenny Nguyen is the grand marshal this year leading the parade.

Rose Festival CityFair

When: May 24-Jun 9
Where: Tom McCall Waterfront Park, 98 Southwest Naito Parkway, Portland, OR
What's going on: It's that time of the year again: Portland's official festival is focused on fun! You'll find entertainment, food and rides on the Waterfront.

Pride Bike Ride

When: June 3, 4-7 p.m.
Where:Director Park, 815 Southwest Park Avenue, Portland, OR
What's going on: June is Pride Month and on Monday Portland streets will come alive for the annual Pride Ride. This fun family-friendly bike ride will also commemorate the late Darcelle XV and World Bicycle Day. Portland drag performer Poison Waters will be hosting the community event, which will end with a dance party at the Cart Blocks food cart pod.

State Parks Day

When: June 1-2
Where: Multiple locations across Oregon
What's going on: State Parks Day continues to be a long-standing tradition since 1998 honoring the preservation and care of the parks by Oregonians. All 25 locations will be waiving day-use parking fees as well as camping fees for all tent, RV and horse campsites on June 1. OPRD will also be waiving fees on June 2 to support Free Fishing Days offered by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife duringselect dates throughout the year. Powell’s Books Portland warehouse sale

When: June 1-2
Where: Powell's Books Warehouse, 2720 Northwest 29th Avenue, Portland, Ore
What's going on: Portland's most famous bookstore will be hosting its first major warehouse sale this upcoming weekend in the Rose City. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the chain's supply warehouse. Powell's says the sale will feature over 30,000 books at discounted prices, including $3 hardcovers, $2 paperbacks, and $1 mass-market titles while supplies last. There are nearly 7,000 literature titles, 5,000 self-help books and about 4,000 children books.
