Ingredients
Butter – This recipe requires 1 cup (2 sticks) of salted butter that is cubed, and room temperature.
Flour – You will need 2 cups of all-purpose flour for this recipe. I have not tested it with other varieties so I am unsure if they would work.
Sugar – Just one half cup of powdered sugar provides the soft, slightly sweet cookie texture these cookie provide.

Chilling the dough is also crucial so that the cookies hold their shape. I chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling it out. I also chill the cut out cookies for an additional 15 minutes before baking so they hold their shapes.

You can also add holiday sprinkles to the dough before cutting out the cookies if you like the confetti dough look.
Storing
These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week. The cookie dough or baked cookies can also be frozen. Store dough wrapped in several layers of plastic wrap in an airtight container in the freezer. Baked cookies can also be frozen and stored in an airtight container.
For gifting, I suggest baking these cookies the day of gifting for maximum freshness and texture.
